Cup and saucer “Heart”

Imagine a cold morning with snowflakes slowly falling outside the window. You make a cup of hot coffee or your favourite tea, wrap yourself in a soft, cosy blanket and enjoy a slow morning. To make it even more wonderful, you need a cup that is a pleasure to drink from. The porcelain cup with a heart is exactly that cup. Elegant and minimalist – its outside is decorated with a black heart with 12-carat gold edges, and its inside with playful dots. It is beautifully matched by a saucer with gold-decorated rims. This handmade porcelain cup will make you fall in love at first sight (or first sip?). Pleasant and comfortable to hold, light and luxurious. What more could you want from your favourite cup…

And that’s not all. This cup is not ordinary ceramic but porcelain. Its production involves complex technological processes. The shaped piece is fired in a kiln at a very high temperature; once it has cooled, the cup is glazed and returned to the kiln. Finally we gild it and back it goes into the kiln again. Can you believe that porcelain needs to be fired at as much as 1400 degrees Celsius?

This cup needs a little care.

We recommend washing it by hand with a soft sponge and avoiding harsh or metal cleaning tools. Because of the gold decoration, the cup and saucer must not be put in the microwave.
